Is PDF Editor Box really free?
Yes. Every tool is free with no daily limit and no watermark on your output. Advertising outside the work area supports the site.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, login, or email required for any tool.
Is there a premium plan?
Not today. All features are available to everyone.
Privacy and security
What happens to my files?
Nothing is kept. Your file is used only to produce the result you asked for, and once you download it, the file is gone. We never store, read, or share your documents.
Where is my saved signature stored?
On this device only. It is never sent to us. You can delete it from the signature dialog.
Do you see the password I use to protect or unlock a PDF?
No. We never see your password or your file.
Files and formats
Which formats are supported?
PDF for every tool. JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP for image conversion. DOCX for Word to PDF and PDF to Word.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. Files of a few hundred megabytes work on a typical laptop. Very large scans may take longer on a phone.
Can I convert scanned PDFs to Word?
PDF to Word extracts existing text. Scans without a text layer need OCR, which is not included yet.
Does the old .doc format work?
Not yet. Save the file as .docx in Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice first.
Devices and browsers
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The tools work in Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android, including drag and drop page reordering and drawing a signature with your finger.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Very old browsers may lack the features the tools rely on.
Does it work offline?
Once a tool page has loaded, the processing itself does not need a connection. Full offline support is planned.
