Split PDF

Click between pages to place cuts, split after every few pages, or pull out just the pages you need.

How to split PDF online

To split a PDF, open the file in the Split PDF tool and click the scissors between two pages wherever you want a cut, or tick Split after every N pages. Switch to Extract to tick single pages instead. Click Split and the new PDFs download as a zip. The document is never stored.

Step by step

Three steps. Most files take a few seconds.

  1. Step 1: Open your PDF

Drop the file onto the page. Page thumbnails appear so you can see what you are splitting.

  2. Step 2: Place the cuts

Click the scissors between two pages to cut there, or tick Split after every N pages. Rotate, duplicate, or delete pages first if you need to.

  3. Step 3: Split and download

Click Split PDF. If the result is more than one file, you get a single zip.

Why use this tool

  • Cut where you click

Cuts go exactly between the pages you choose, and Split after every N pages handles the batch cases, down to one file per page.

  • See before you split

Every page is laid out in front of you, so you cut by looking, not by counting page numbers.

  • Original quality

Pages are copied without re-rendering, so the output is identical to the source.

Your file is never stored

Your document is used only to produce the result you asked for. Once the download is ready and you leave the page, the file is gone. There is no copy to keep, no account that holds it, and nothing to delete later.

That makes it safe for invoices, contracts, bank statements, ID scans, medical records, and anything else you would rather keep to yourself.

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a PDF into separate pages?

Tick Split after every 1 pages and click Split PDF. Each page becomes its own PDF and all of them download together as a zip.

Can I split by a range of pages?

Yes. Click the scissors between the last page of one range and the first page of the next. Each run of pages between cuts becomes one file.

What is the difference between Split and Extract?

Split divides the whole document into pieces. Extract pulls out only the pages you tick, as one new PDF or one PDF per page, and leaves the rest behind.

Will bookmarks be kept?

Bookmarks that point to pages inside a range are not carried into the split files in this version. Text, links inside the page, and images are preserved.

Is it safe to use this with confidential documents?

Yes. Your file is used only to produce the result you asked for and is never stored. We do not keep copies, read the contents, or share them with anyone. Once you download the result and close the page, the file is gone.

Is there a file size or usage limit?

There is no daily limit and no account. Files up to a few hundred megabytes work on a typical laptop. Very large scans may take longer on a phone.
